Also known as the ZOMBINATOR, this all-purpose tool combines the essential functions of an axe (fully resharpenable), and also acts as a claw hammer, nail puller, crow bar, wire twist, spanner wrench, grapple hook, tire chain hook, and zombie mutilator. Pretty impressive tool/weapon that is a must for preppers.

The ultimate sock for preppers and survivalists alike. They have the look and feel of a wool sock, but waterproof. Made of 3 layers. A tough knit exterior that looks and feels like a regular sock, an Artex™ breathable waterproof membrane, and a naturally anti-bacterial Merino Wool blend lining. Seems a no brainer to grab some of these bad boys.

This highly maneuverable vehicle is a must for preppers. The thing looks a little ridiculous, but it is loaded to the gills with prepper goodies. Check out some of these features:

This is truly weapon porn for the zombie enthusiast. This crossbow is fully loaded with a scope, red dot sight, LED flashlight, Blue SWAT light attachments, as well as a magazine with capacity for 180 steel balls, AND is has the ability to fire featherless arrow and featherless fish hooks for whomever the hell is shooting fishhooks at things.

This item is flat out awesome, although it still appears to still be in development.

Essentially the same size as a flare, the RMB shoots a self-inflating helium balloon into the air that can stay aloft for up to seven days. The balloon, made of durable plastic, is stored in a small canister with a clip for attaching to your belt, backpack or anti-zombie crossbow. When deployed, the balloon rises up to 150 feet in the air and can be tethered by a lightweight cord.

The RMB also has a built-in flashing LED signal, which developers say is visible up to two miles away. The LED flashes an SOS signal, and the balloon is also designed to show up on radar. So if you want to be found and rescued, there isn't much better than this.

VSSL Outdoor Utility tools essentially takes an LED flashlight and makes them into a perfect, compact, lightweight survival storage device. We liked the VSSL supplies model, but they have several awesome units. Below are the features in the supplies unit which includes:

  • 1 Ibs 2 ounces, weather resistant

  • 9" by 2" diameter

  • Flashlight With:

  • Compass (oil filled)

  • 4 hour pure Canadian beeswax candle

  • Razor blade

  • 6 Aquatabs® water purification tablets. Purify up to 3 gallons (each tab purifies up to 2 liters, depending on water quality)

  • Wire saw (high tensile, 60lb working strength with handle straps)

  • Aluminum beadless emergency whistle

  • Waterproof matches

  • Tinder Quik® fire starters

  • Fishing Gear

  • Signalling Mirror

  • Marine grade rope (250lb breaking strength)

  • Reflective trail markers

  • P38 military GI Type can opener

  • First aid supplies

  • VSSL priorities of survival and instructions

By far one of our favorites tools. I personally have used mine more often than I change voices on our podcast. Measuring only 23" long, 10" wide, and weighing 3Lbs, you couldn't find a better all-around wood tool to beat this thing. Features include:

  • 5″ Axe Head

  • Mallet

  • 15″ Steel Saw Blade

  • Saw Handles & Safety Sheath

  • Snap Down Cam

  • Saw Blade Storage

  • 20″ Handle

Weighing roughly 1.7 Lbs and measuring 9.7" x 2.5", this tool would be well worth the price we believe. Generating energy on the go, away from threats, will prove difficult in any SHTF scenario. Being able to leave a device to generator stored energy while you accomplish other tasks with be essential for a survivalist. The Estream portable hydro generator features a 6400 mAh battery, charged by water propulsion when anchored into a stream or river. The battery can then be used to charge 3 smart phones, a GoPro, and a Tablet PC 2x faster than outlet. You can also replace the top dome and it works as a lantern. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

10 - Belts

We wanted to include two belt types in here. One being more the belt itself as an excellent EDC item and the other as an incredibly useful belt buckle. Lets check them out!

An excellent addition to your EDC. This belt measures ~2 feet long, and includes a velcro enclosure along the full length of the belt. The belt can be purchased cheaply empty for you to add items, or fully stocked in different setups. It contains many small pockets to store items (hooks, bandages, water bags etc.) and 2 loop hooks on front to securing different items. Excellent item for the price.

The SlideBelts Survival Belt is a little more stylish. The buckle itself acts as a multitool. It includes:

  • Aluminum LED light

  • Glass-Filled Nylon Body (Very Strong)

  • Bottle Opener

  • AUS-8 Stainless Steel Knife

  • Ferro Rod

The belt that comes with the SlideBelts buckle is also quite impressive. It is UV protected, tightens by continuous notches, is heat resistant up to 214 Degree F, can be cut to custom fit, and is made up of a durable internal webbing that has a 1500 PSI Tensile Strength. Both these belts are awesome and we highly suggest checking both out to decide which fits your needs.

This incredible device allows you to benefit even more from your fire besides warmth and cooking some grub. By capturing waste heat energy via some crazy scientific thermoelectric generator sh*!, you can then use the energy to power a USB port and charge multiple devices. Internally there is also a small fan power by the fire which blows into the fire to create a more efficient, cleaner burn. That is seriously some creative shizz right there. Features in this contraption include:

  • Thermoelectric Generator

  • Generate usable electricity from the heat of the fire

  • 2W USB Port

  • Charge devices like smartphones, headlamps, LED lights

  • Internal Fan and Gas Jets

  • HI/LO fan settings circulate air into the fire for improved combustion and efficiency

  • Scalloped Pot Stand

  • Triangulates pots and pans for stable cooking surface and diverts flames away from powerpack

  • Honeycomb Heat Mesh

  • Protective barrier keeps CampStove cool to the touch

  • Lightweight Aluminum Legs

  • Fold up and away for nested portability

  • Weighs only 2 Lbs

We have all had plenty of experience with Leatherman. Their quality and customer service are second to none. Most the items we have discussed above and in other articles are mainly survival tools or weapons. It is easy to forget the need for basic tools in all of this, which is why I included the Leatherman Tread tool. On your wrist you can carry a plethora of everyday tools, and do so in style. The Tread acts as 29 commonly needed tools such as Philips and flat head screwdrivers, multiple hex drives, wrench, glass break, cutting hook, pick, and bottle opener. Do yourself a favor and check one out, I'm sure you'll want one.
